- Lecture (in Japanese): “Kami and hotoke: What fieldwork
on music and physical movement in traditional Japanese ritual contexts tells
us”
- KIKKAWA Shuuhei, Professor of the Research Centre for Japanese Traditional Music
- The lecture will examine the manifestations of kami and hotoke
as realized through music and bodily movement in the traditional religious
rituals of Japan. Many examples will be shown from videos taken throughout
Japan by the lecturer during his fieldwork.
Seating is limited to 250 persons. Seats will be available free of charge on
a first-come-first-served basis. Please come directly to the venue. Sponsored
